I don’t use an objective statement anymore because what does it really say to the hiring company that’s unique about you…it tends to just fill up space. What I’ve changed to is a job summary statement. Mine is a couple lines. I first say the type of position/company I am looking for and the second line gives my skills and experience. I think it’s helped because it’s focused and gives them some real info.

Maybe another way to go? When I was interviewing, I got some positive responses from companies on this. They like to feel someone is targeting them specifically rather than blasting out a generic resume to everyone with an opening.
